summer 2012 - recap

way back then, I had BIG plans for the summer and I'm proud to say I accomplished everything on my little list. clockwise from top left:

  • celebrate - I like that we marked each occasion, big or small. lots of birthdays, family gatherings and a college send off for the boy were memorable highlights
  • read / relax - 6 books and counting this summer! gone girl and rules of civility were my favorites and I've started the Harry Høle series by Jo Nesbø - highly recommended if you loved the Dragon Tattoo series.
  • travel / adventure - the girls dared me to do a handstand in the pool. easy peasy but I also tackled zip lining, horseback riding and starfish holding.
  • Alt NYC - this was a 'professional' highlight and I loved meeting so many new people. it's kicking off my back-to-school initiative. stay tuned...

I think it really helped to set (realistic) goals this year to avoid the 'where did the time go?!' syndrome I seem to have each september. how about you - did you have a good summer?
