work in progress
it's no secret that I have this thing for teal/peacock blue/turquoise/whatever you want to call it and every variation of hue and value. it's not a color I can wear (see also: oxblood/burgundy) but I LOVE it in home decor. I painted my dining room a deep kelly green* and while I think it looks great, I'd love to add a wash/glaze of turquoise on top to create a very cool tint. does anyone know if this is possible?
anyhoo, this is the cover of the current issue of elle decor and I would move in to this room in a heartbeat. I got to thinking that if I can't live here I can certainly translate it to a bib necklace and add it into this fall's accessory rotation. stay tuned - it's going to be AWESOME.
PS - *my dining room is pratt & lambert 'spinach' (#20-20 / old #1507) see fuzzy photo below:
PPS - see that dining chair at the head of the table? yeah... the chairs are covered with gorgeous green silk but desperately need to be replaced. I've been on the hunt for teal/turquoise velvet fabric-by-the-yard for at least 3 years now. I really don't want to spend $100/yard since I have 12 seat cushions to cover. any suggestions?
