First things first: I rented a wide-angle lens and it's pretty awesome so you can expect some interior shots over here in the coming weeks. The table and chairs (and rug) are 'hand-me-downs' from my parents' downsizing a few years ago and they're stunning (last seen here). The table has another leaf and can extend to comfortably seat ten. The chairs are covered in gorgeous, kelly green grosgrain silk that almost matches my Pratt & Lambert 'Spinach' walls but have seen better days. I've had this idea of peacock blue velvet but the price tag of covering these six, plus my six, chairs is staggering - like $150/yard staggering.
If you read Jenny Komenda's blog 'Little Green Notebook' you'll notice she uses velvet in a lot of her upholstery projects and that's when I realized I had so many more options if I searched for 'mohair velvet'. VOILA! I found a couple of contenders from Decorative Fabrics Direct and ordered up some samples. Fortunately for me, this was perfect and only $35/yard - SOLD!
Now when will it arrive??
