new series - this to that
I'm always finding interesting things online or in real life that inspire a particular color palette for my jewelry - fashion, interiors, art, landscapes. you can find some of my inspiration on my 'here's what I'm thinking' pinterest board. this dress is by MSGM, is completely out of my budget and I love the colors and the pattern. I thought it would be interesting to see how it would play out as a potential necklace. fun, right? this is the closest I've come to pulling together what's rolling around in my head and translating it for someone else to understand.
have you heard of grapheme-color synesthesia? it's a condition where your "perception of numbers and letters is associated with the experience of colors." wild I know. I'd never heard the term until I read one of Jack's summer reading books about eight years ago - A Mango Shaped Space by Wendy Mass (it's a quick read and a really great YA novel) I think I have a quiet version of grapheme color synesthesia. I get what it feels like to READ and HEAR colors. I use colors as a memory or pneumonic device. colors keep me up at night and are what I see when I close my eyes. colors are my jam.
know who else is a synesthete? Stevie Wonder, Pharrell Williams, Itzhak Perlman, Geoffrey Rush, and Mary J Blige to name a few.
