spring break 2015
after our boondoggle in st kitts we headed to florida for some quality grandparent time. again, it would've been great if jack had joined us but he's a standup guy and I wouldn't change that.we started at my parents near palm beach for a couple of days and while the guys were golfing the ladies started our girly afternoon of museuming and shopping at the flagler museum. (photo above courtesy of) I hadn't been since high school with my grandparents and because the girls love all things HGTV, touring a gilded age mansion was right up their alley. if you time it right, they serve a beautiful tea in the museum's café des beaux-arts. I think the girls loved each of the twelve elegant bedrooms best but personally, I was fascinated with the ceilings.
and the courtyard was pretty spectacular, too.after wandering we were thirsty and we'd missed the special tea in the whitehall society consevatory so we hit the road and headed over to worth avenue. we found a pretty al fresco spot in the via mizner area of palm beach proper, tossed back a couple raspberry lemonades and did some serious window shopping.
these perfectly arranged linen tops were in the gorgeous cj laing shop. I fell in love with everything about the little boutique - the light, the styling and the beautifully curated pieces. it looks the way summer feels. they're open in palm beach from the end of october until memorial day and then they open up their shop on nantucket from memorial day until the end of october. (genius idea) I'm seriously considering getting the guts up to see about getting my pieces sold there. wish me luck.
since we cleaned up for our afternoon out I feel like I should mention what we're wearing. on me: old linen 'chambray' shirt from H&M, new favorite j crew factory oxford shorts, last year's target sandals and my custom fedora / on lulu: super cute eyelet dress from gap, grey madewell cardigan and old sandals from target / on abby: super soft tshirt from target with a classic jcrew factory breton stripe, jcrew shorts and favorite jack rogers. cute, no?
