AUGUST RECAP - VSCO EDITION

not sure who said it but the phrase ‘august is the sunday of summer’ was spot on.

august was all about family. partly because we have so many august birthdays. but the first week of the month I spent most of my time gearing up for the Nonquitt Art Show - finishing up some oil and pastel paintings and stringing some beads. it’s one of the only 3-day shows I participate in. mostly because I get to spend the weekend at my parents’ and traditionally a great success.

we spent the second week gearing up to host Bob’s side of the family for his mom’s do-over 80th birthday celebration. it just so happens that her birthday is the day before mine and 4 days before her husband’s.I tried to spend the rest of the month laying low and taking it easy. a couple of jaunts to newport (the ferry is the best way to go from providence), a quick visit from my niece, and soaking up the last days of summer. **

you can find me, and my black & white only photos, on vsco.** I follow the astronomical calendar and not the meteorological calendar. summer doesn’t end until September 19 so I take great offense to halloween decorations in stores and pumpkin spice lattes. but, I’m actually looking forward to september and all the ‘back to school’ vibes.
